Poetic Piece
Pseudonym: SouLve’ B.A.
I inherited…
Something
passed down
from generation to generation…
Something
found and granted to me
from the shadows…
Something
I thought
I could fight…
But damn…
I inherited it.
I inherited the pain…
From words
slayed like blood…
I inherited the hurt
from expressions
carved into my heart…
Like an internal tattoo.
I inherited demons…
that diseased my mind
like tumors.
Roaming within me…
like blood clots.
Feasting upon me…
like wild banshees.
I inherited the feeling…
Of loneliness…
even when surrounded.
I inherited the trait…
Of holding on
to those words…
Like a precious
porcelain
baby doll.
I inherited the ability
to say…
“Fuck this shit…
It is what it is.”
I inherited the ability…
Not to cry tears
that stain my face…
But to cry tears
that stain my Soul.
I inherited the lows…
The lows
that life can bring…
While inheriting
the trait
of being taunted…
By my mishaps…
And my
“unruly” mistakes.
I inherited something…
Something
I thought
I would never get.
I inherited
what 85% of us
had already inherited…
Yet…
I thought I was
the “Chosen One”…
For not
inheriting it.
But…
I inherited…
The day
my optimism
of the world died…
The day
my hope
for mankind died.
The day…
I took off
my rose-colored glasses…
And saw
the window pain…
Instead of glass.
The day…
I cut off
my blonde hair…
And grew
Black roots.
I inherited the knowledge
that this world
will never see me
as equal…
I inherited the understanding
that I’m
Public Enemy Number 1…
I inherited the understanding
that WE
are their greatest adversary…
I inherited the understanding
that they are, indeed…
“NOT LIKE US.”
Damn it…
I inherited it.
